Wilmot is the Founder and Chairman of VentureLift Africa (VLA), a holding company facilitating financial investment, trade, tech transfer, FDI, market entry and expansion for U.S. businesses seeking to engage Africa and African firms aiming for greater U.S. market access. VLA established the Diaspora Angel Investor Network, Commerce Hub initiatives and the Africa Creative Marketplace to achieve this mission. He began his emerging market investment career with the International Finance Corporation and was a tech VC investor, M&A investment banker and creative executive in Hollywood.
