Her areas of expertise include general poverty law, medical-legal partnerships, the effect of structural racism on communities of color, public benefits, and housing law.

She is the Founder of Micro Enterprise Social Entrepreneurship (MESENow), a social enterprise organization with a vision to create an ecosystem of women and youth entrepreneurs in developing nations through education and leadership development. Her research focuses on social entrepreneurship, micro-businesses, women in leadership, ethnographic and case study design, women and youth economic development, as well as leadership, and sustainability in developing nations.
